Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Our driver/guide reports to your hotel for Start of the safari, with an early departure for a scenic drive down into the Great Rift Valley, onwards to Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier game reserve. (Drive time 5-6 hours). Stop briefly enroute at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of what is the world’s largest Valley, said to be even visible from space. Arrive at Masai Mara for lunch. The afternoon game drive will allow you to spot the magnificent wildlife in the park ranging from the Big Cats such as Lion, Leopard & Cheetah to Rhino, Elephant and Wildebeest. Return to your lodge by 6.30pm for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara

In the morning, you’ll depart your camp for a full-day excursion into the Masai Mara Game Reserve, which is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It’s the most famous and most visited game reserve in the country. Here, you can easily view an array of wildlife, including gazelle, impala, antelope, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, and warthog, as well as the big cat species, such as leopard, cheetah, and lion.

The biggest draw to the reserve is, of course, the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti plains. Starting in late June, the animals cross the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach the Masai Mara grazing fields. The dramatic crossing of the river results in a game of survival, as the species are met with lurking predators below the water. The migration is best seen from July to August.

Other animals you’ll view on safari include bat-eared foxes, jackals, and spotted hyenas, as well as the hippos and crocodiles that make their homes in the Mara and Talek rivers. The reserve is also rich in birdlife with about 452 recorded species, including vultures, eagles, common ostrich, cranes, storks, hamerkop, and hornbills.
In the afternoon, you can opt for an optional hot air balloon safari or visit a local Masai village to learn about the nomadic lifestyle. The Masai are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the region’s wild animals for centuries.
In the evening, you’ll return to camp where you can relax on your personal veranda, swim in the pool, view the elephants from the lounge, or enjoy a drink in the bar before dinner.

Day 3: Masai Mara- Lake Nakuru

Conclude your stay in the Mara with a shorter early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Your Safari now takes you to Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru is not only a UNESCO World Heritage site but also a Bird & Rhino sanctuary where you also get to see Lion and Leopard. Arrive by midday and proceed to your booked accommodation for a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park including visits to viewpoints which offer superb photo opportunities. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight by 6.30pm.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru-Lake Naivasha

Today you can savour a relaxed breakfast as you only need to start your journey to Lake Naivasha National Park after breakfast. Lake Naivasha, a fresh water lake which is a popular tourist spot in Kenya for locals and foreigners alike. Arrive in time for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure – the lodge we book at the lake offer beautiful natural spaces where you can see numerous bird species among the trees as well as spot some animals ranging from waterbuck to warthogs. You may also choose to book a one-hour Lake Boat Safari at extra cost during which you get to see some of the lake’s wildlife such as hippos as well as enjoy the picturesque views of the lake and surrounding highland landscapes. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha- Nairobi
